The weather CHANGES

Today we had a usual sunny start, the weather forecast predicted light wind and the odd snow flake so nothing major. then this storm blew in



 

the skys darkened, (the snow is left over from yesterday)

 the snow started

five mins of snowing

 10 mins and the wind picks up also

visibility has started to reduce 15 mins if snowing

the snow has started to stop 25 mins into the storm

all over 30mins in total.
Just a reminder of how the weather can change. a nice day can soon turn into a nightmare if you are not prepared

Snow

well it has arrived, friday night we had a dump of 6" of snow so i went for a wonder round the local wood.it is amazing how quiet the woods are and what you can hear in the distance the rail road sounded as if it just went past the wood, no bird sound at all i did not even see a red cardinal these birds are so vivid that they stand out a mile.

in the snow their were tracks of dear everywhere pitty the hunting season has finnished. the dear must have a calander and know when it is safe to return. in the low shrub their were tracks of mice they scuttled all over the area.  even managed to locate the hole where they live.




 this tree had an amazing icicle sprouting half way down the trunk,

 this tree had a nice balcony made from a bracket fungus

  the sun once again decided it was time to go home,  when it started to go down the temperature droped

 went home to find that i needed to shovel out the drive but the snow is nice it chainges everything.

the other weekend I went for a walk round the local nature reserve. I was hoping to get in a spot of ice fishing this year but as you can see the ice is just not forming , the weather is in the lower teens so maybe in  a few weeks time this could be possible outing.

in this cove it is about 1/2" thick so now you cant fish. either way.
